Encôr, a local choir from the Bangor area have chosen Gafael Llaw and Wales Air Ambulance as their two chosen charities for the year, with all of their concert proceeds shared between both charities.

The choir of 55 members weekly rehearse under the leadership of Kiefer Jones at Barea Chapel in Banger, every Wednesday. A four-voice choir, they enjoy performing a range of songs, from traditional Welsh songs to Bohemian Rhapsody. Anyone is welcome to join, email to register an interest: encor.wyn@gmail.com

Speaking to the members about why they decided to support Gafael Llaw, one member explained:

“Those of us who have been on the cancer journey can both empathise and sympathise with fellow adult patients, imagine being a child on the same bewildering and frightening journey, it’s almost impossible to explain. Anything that helps the process, and the families can only be a good thing, and I know fellow sufferers will agree, every penny helps.”

Choir member, Ruth Wyn Williams added: “The cancer journey is a journey that many members of the choir are familiar with, be it an individual, family experience or knowing friends. So it’s a privilege for the choir, by enjoying singing, are supporting a charity that is very close to the hearts of all members and so active locally with children, young people and their families.”
