Virtual marathon runner raises funds for Gafael Llaw
Local fundraiser, Karen Rees Roberts from Pwllheli completed the London virtual marathon back in October, raising over £4000 for two worthy causes: Gafael Llaw and Scope. Karen, who has been raising money for charities for years, had been training for the London Marathon that was due to take place in April. New ventilator enables closer to home treatment
Thanks to the continued generosity and support of Gafael Llaw a new trilogy machine (ventilator) worth over £6000 is now up and running at Ward Dewi, Ysbyty Gwynedd. Gafael Llaw were keen to offer their support more than ever to the ward during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ward Dewi’s new facilities transforming lives
A couple of months have passed since the new sensory room opened on Ward Dewi, Ysbyty Gwynedd, thanks to Gafael Llaw’s £120,000 donation. As well as the new sensory room on Ward Minffordd, the bathroom facilities on Ward Dewi were also upgraded to meet the needs of children with disabilities. The new facilities are already having a far-reaching effect on the lives of the children who spend time on the ward. New sensory room and improved bathroom facilities planned for Ysbyty Gwynedd’s Children’s Ward
Work is set to begin at Ysbyty Gwynedd’s Children’s Ward to improve the facilities available for the youngest patients at the hospital. The £154,000 project was made possible by local Caernarfon based charity Gafael Llaw who have generously donated £85,000 towards the development. Gafael Llaw give a helping hand to Ysbyty Gwynedd’s Children’s Ward
Doctors and nurses on Ysbyty Gwynedd’s Children’s Ward paid tribute to local charity Gafael Llaw at a special thanksgiving event on the ward. Since it was set up in June 2013, Gafael Llaw has raised £150,000 to support local children with cancer. As well as supporting new facilities and a Welsh Language library in Alder Hey hospital, the charity has given £20,000 to fund activities and events organised for families affected by childhood cancer. ...more |

Charity golf day raises £5,000
A golfing charity event held at St. Deiniol Golf Club, Bangor proved to be a roaring success, raising a grand total of £5,000. Over 140 golfers competed over 18 holes, all in the name of charity. The winners were Maldwyn Jones, Steven Morris, Dafydd Pritchard and Kevin Roberts with a score of 108 points. The prizes consisted of titleist, vokey, wedges, an Irish golf break and Pro V1 golf balls. ...more |
